How will I know if I have an infection after cryotherapy?

There is a small risk of infection after cryotherapy of lesions. You can reduce this risk by keeping your wound clean and dry and covering it if necessary. 

Seek immediate medical attention if you have the following symptoms in the first few days after your treatment: 

  • worsening pain

  • swelling and redness around the treated area 

  • yellow or green discharge from your wound

  • a fever (a temperature above 38 °C) 

  • feeling generally unwell
