Is there anyone who shouldn’t have scar revision treatment?

Scar revision treatment may not be suitable for everyone. Your consultant will decide if scar revision treatment is safe for you based on your general health, medical history and individual circumstances. 

 Scar revision may not be an appropriate treatment for you if you: 

  • are prone to keloid or hypertrophic scars

  • have poor wound healing

  • have an active skin condition

  • are taking immunosuppressant drugs

  • are taking anticoagulants (blood thinners) 

  • have poorly controlled diabetes
