What happens if something abnormal is found?

If your consultant sees anything unusual, they’ll discuss this with you on the day of your appointment. They may take a small tissue sample (biopsy) or recommend further tests. Your consultant will let you know when they’ll be in touch with any results and any other necessary next steps.
