When do you not need HPV screening?

If you're younger than 25 years old, you don’t need HPV screening. This is because cervical cancer is rare at this age, and any abnormal cell changes often go back to normal in younger women. You also don’t need a test if you’re 65 or older, unless your consultant has recommended ongoing monitoring.
