When should I see a doctor for diverticular disease?

Make an appointment with a consultant if you: 

• have abdominal pain that’s getting worse or not getting better

• have diarrhoea for more than 7 days  

• have a fever 

• notice blood or mucus in your poo 

• are vomiting (being sick) and can’t keep fluids down
