When should I see a doctor for ulcerative colitis? 

Make an appointment with a consultant if you have: 

• diarrhoea for more than 7 days

• blood or mucus (slime) in your poo

• abdominal pain or bloating that’s getting worse, not getting better or keeps coming back 

• unexplained weight loss
