Will I have a scar after cryotherapy of lesions?

Scarring after cryotherapy is uncommon but can occur after your treatment. Your risk of scarring depends on the type of lesion, the depth of freezing used during your treatment and your skin type.

You can reduce the risk of scarring by keeping your wound clean and dry, protecting the area from sun exposure, and covering any open wounds. Your consultant may prescribe a silicone gel to help reduce scarring after your cryotherapy treatment.
