Paediatrics

Yes. We offer private paediatric care across a wide range of specialties. For full details of our paediatric service, please see our paediatric care page.

The age range we can see varies by specialty and consultant. Some paediatric services offer care from birth, while others start from a specific minimum age. You can find the exact age criteria on each service page. If you’re unsure, please contact the relevant centre, and they’ll be happy to advise. Additionally, you can email the Head of Paediatric Nursing, who will be happy to help - catherine.stuart@welbeckhealth.com.

Currently, we provide paediatric care across the following specialties:

  • Allergy

  • ENT

  • Urology and Men’s Health

  • Neurology

  • Orthopaedics

  • Imaging & Diagnostics

  • Skin Health

  • Surgery

  • Women’s Health

A parent or legal guardian with parental responsibility must attend and provide consent for children under 16. Young people aged 16 to 18 will usually give their own consent, but a parent or guardian should still attend. Our paediatric team will guide you through the consent process both before and during your visit.

If you’re unable to attend and wish to send someone without parental responsibility to accompany your child, please inform the centre you’ll be visiting, as a consent form must be completed before your child can be seen.

Parents or guardians are welcome to stay with their child throughout the consultation and for most tests and procedures. If a specific clinical setting means you can’t be with your child, your consultant will explain this beforehand and ensure you’re kept informed. If there’s something your child would like to discuss with their consultant in private, you may be asked to leave the room for a few minutes and then come back. 16 to 18-year-olds have the right to attend the consultation on their own. We advise you to discuss this with the young person before attending.

We can also provide a chaperone, who is another healthcare professional who’s specially trained to be present during appointments and procedures. They’ll act as your child’s advocate and ensure they feel safe and comfortable at all times. Unfortunately, parents cannot act as chaperones – our clinical staff are trained to a high standard to act as your advocate.
