Paying for Your Care
Yes. You can pay for your care yourself, and we’ll always provide clear pricing before any appointment. The starting point for most patients is an initial consultation with one of our specialists, which typically costs from around £250.
Yes. You’ll be given a quote before attending your appointment so you understand the expected costs. If your consultant recommends additional tests or treatment, we’ll provide clear pricing for these in advance of any appointments.
For self-paying patients, payment is needed before your appointment can go ahead. You can pay in advance or on arrival at the centre. Our team will explain the payment process when you book.
If you have a health insurance policy, you’ll need to provide us with a pre-authorisation code before your appointment.
For some procedures, payment plans are available. Please contact the centre directly to find out whether your treatment qualifies and what options are available.
We work with all major UK health insurers, including Bupa, AXA Health, Aviva, VitalityHealth, and more. If you’re unsure, please contact us to make sure your insurance is accepted.
Yes. Your insurer must approve your consultation, test, or treatment in advance and give you an authorisation code. You’ll need to provide the centre with the code in advance, or on the day of your visit. Without pre-authorisation, your appointment will not be able to go ahead.
Private health insurance usually covers the main elements of private care, such as initial and follow-up consultations, most diagnostic tests, and many day-case or outpatient procedures. However, what’s included varies significantly between insurers and individual policies, so it’s important to check your cover before booking. Some policies restrict which consultants you can see, which hospitals you can use, or how much outpatient care is included each year.
Most insurance policies also have exclusions. These commonly include GP appointments, prescriptions, cosmetic treatments, emergency care, and any treatment that began before the policy was active. Your insurer will be able to confirm exactly what is and isn’t covered under your plan. For more detailed guidance, visit our full guide on paying for private healthcare.
Many insurance policies include an annual excess. Your insurer will confirm whether this applies. Any excess will need to be paid directly to Welbeck.
The quickest way to check what’s covered is to contact your insurer directly. They’ll confirm whether your condition, consultant, and type of appointment are included in your policy and provide an authorisation code if they are.
