
About Ahmed Abbas
Dr Ahmed Abbas is a consultant practicing in two specialities, having acquired dual accreditation as a Consultant Clinical Neurophysiologist and Consultant Neurologist. Dr Abbas is one of very few specialists in the UK to hold this dual accreditation.
Dr Abbas’ NHS base is at St George’s University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust where he undertakes nerve conduction studies, electromyography and nerve ultrasound. His practice covers the breadth of neuromuscular disorders, with a particular subspecialist interest in peripheral nerve diseases.
Dr Abbas is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy [FHEA] and has been awarded national, regional and local teaching prizes. He has been involved in clinical research, with several publications and awards in this area. His presentations at national neurology meetings have also garnered several prizes.
He is a member of the Association of British Neurology [ABN], British Society of Clinical Neurophysiology [BSCN], British Peripheral Nerve Society [BPNS] and British Myology Society [BMS].

Your first consultation includes a detailed discussion of your symptoms, medical history, and lifestyle factors, followed by a thorough examination. It’s helpful if you can bring the results of any previous investigations with you, as well as a list of your current medications. Come with a comfortably full bladder so you can provide a urine sample if requested.
