About Imogen Shaw
Dr Imogen Shaw is an experienced GP with particular expertise in menopause, PMS, menstrual disorders, and contraception. She trained at Cambridge University and Westminster Medical School and has been a GP for 26 years. Dr Shaw took a sabbatical in 2008, working in a gynaecology department in Canada, and subsequently qualified with a postgraduate diploma in gynaecology.
Dr Shaw was a pivotal member of the committee involved in writing the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) guidelines for menopause in 2015 and appeared on national television and in the press to promote the guidelines. She educates local GPs and gives talks to various charitable women’s groups. She has co-written a book for GPs on managing the menopause and is a member of the British Menopause Society and a founding member of the Primary Women’s Health Care Forum, for which she wrote the menopause guidelines on HRT prescribing.
Dr Shaw is passionate about helping women through the menopausal years, a period that can be challenging and is often poorly understood and inadequately managed by many healthcare professionals.

We aim to offer appointments as quickly as possible, and many services have same-day or next-day availability. Waiting times vary depending on the appointment type, specialty, and consultant availability, but our team will always offer the earliest suitable appointment.
Yes. You can arrange an appointment for a family member, or someone you care for, just let us know when you get in touch. We’ll need their details and consent to complete the booking, unless you're their legal guardian or have power of attorney.
Your first consultation includes a detailed discussion of your symptoms, medical history, and lifestyle factors, followed by a thorough examination. It’s helpful if you can bring the results of any previous investigations with you, as well as a list of your current medications. Come with a comfortably full bladder so you can provide a urine sample if requested.
