When should I see a doctor about skin lumps and bumps? 

Make an appointment with a dermatologist if you have: 

  • a new skin lump/bump that is painful or bleeding

  • changes to an existing lump or bump

  • a lump/bump that lasts more than a few weeks

  • a lump in your breasts, testicles, neck, armpit, or groin 

  • signs of infection like pain, swelling, redness, or warmth

  • a hard (immovable) lump/bump
