About Bjorn Thomas

Dr Björn Thomas is a consultant dermatologist. Alongside his private practice, he works as a consultant at Guy's and St Thomas' Hospital, specialising in Dermato-Oncology (General Medical Council specialist register) where he is the lead of largest melanoma service in the country. He also holds a PhD from his work on atopic eczema.

Dr Thomas graduated from St George's Hospital Medical School, London with a and was awarded the Brackenbury Prize for Medicine and Surgery. He completed his post-graduate medical training in London and his Dermatology training at Bart's Health NHS Trust and the Royal Free Hospital.

His PhD work investigating the genetic architecture of atopic eczema and the role of environmental stress / pollution was awarded the Royal Society of Medicine Trainee Research Prize and published in numerous research articles.

After his general Dermatology training, he completed a Dermatology Fellowship in Dermato-Oncology at Guy's and St Thomas' Hospital focused on cutaneous lymphoma, graft-versus host disease and melanoma, in which he is now a specialist.

Dr Thomas has extensive experience as a private dermatologist and is happy to see patients with all skin conditions including acne, rosacea, atopic eczema/dermatitis, psoriasis, mole checks and skin cancers. He performs skin surgery including the removal of benign lesions and steroid injections for keloid scars, acne and hidradenitis suppurativa.
