About David Simon
Dr David Simon is a Consultant Gastroenterologist and Advanced Endoscopist at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, one of the UK’s leading academic hospital groups.
He specialises in the diagnosis and treatment of digestive disorders and sees patients with common gastrointestinal symptoms such as bloating, diarrhoea, abdominal pain, reflux, dyspepsia, anaemia, and small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO). He also manages a wide range of bowel and functional gastrointestinal disorders, providing clear explanations and tailored treatment plans.
Dr Simon has a specialist interest in pancreatic and biliary diseases (HPB conditions), including disorders of the pancreas, bile ducts, and gallbladder.
He trained at Hôpital Saint-Antoine in Paris and Hammersmith Hospital in London, and performs over 1,000 endoscopic procedures each year, including gastroscopy, colonoscopy, ERCP, and endoscopic ultrasound (EUS).
At Imperial, he has developed and expanded the therapeutic endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) service, providing patients with minimally invasive, non-surgical treatments for complex pancreatic and biliary conditions, particularly in difficult cases where surgery may be high risk or avoidable.
Dr Simon is recognised for his technical expertise in advanced endoscopy, as well as his clear and reassuring communication with patients.

Frequently asked questions
Yes, but only for certain services. Some consultations, assessments, and treatments can be booked directly, while others require a GP or specialist referral. Please check the relevant service page for guidance, and contact the centre if you’re unsure.
We aim to offer appointments as quickly as possible, and many services have same-day or next-day availability. Waiting times vary depending on the appointment type, specialty, and consultant availability, but our team will always offer the earliest suitable appointment.
Yes. You can arrange an appointment for a family member, or someone you care for, just let us know when you get in touch. We’ll need their details and consent to complete the booking, unless you're their legal guardian or have power of attorney.
Your first consultation includes a detailed discussion of your symptoms, medical history, and lifestyle factors, followed by a thorough examination. It’s helpful if you can bring the results of any previous investigations with you, as well as a list of your current medications. Come with a comfortably full bladder so you can provide a urine sample if requested.
