Dr Deven Patel is a consultant cardiologist, founding board member and partner at Welbeck Health, specialising in complex coronary intervention.
His experience in invasive coronary angiography and imaging exceeds 16,000 cases and in coronary intervention and stenting, over 3,000. He has also been inserting single and dual chamber pacemaker implants for over 30 years.
He has been one of the leading cardiologists at Barnet and Royal Free NHS Hospitals for some years; where he has been head of cardiology since 2007, and also currently co-leads on clinical governance.

Dr Patel’s research interests have been in the investigation and risk assessment of patients with chest pain syndromes, coronary intervention, and more recently in the role of CT coronary angiography in assessment of coronary disease.
He has undertaken considerable research in the diagnosis and risk stratification of coronary artery disease and acute coronary syndromes, including acute myocardial infarction.
He has also developed an expertise in undertaking coronary angiography and stenting via the arm using the radial artery.
