Dr Justine Setchell
GP and Menopause Specialist
About Justine Setchell
Dr Justine Setchell is an experienced GP and Menopause Specialist with over 20 years' experience in clinical practice and a longstanding specialist interest in women's health and hormonal wellbeing.
She trained at Imperial College Medical School and has developed particular expertise in supporting women experiencing menopause, PMS and other hormone-related concerns. Dr Setchell holds the Advanced Certificate in Menopause Management and is a member of the British Menopause Society. She is also a Diplomate of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists and holds the Diploma in Occupational Medicine.
Throughout her career, Dr Setchell has maintained a strong interest in women's health. Alongside her work in general practice, she works as a Hormone Health Specialist, providing individualised assessment and support for women experiencing hormonal symptoms at different stages of their lives.
Her areas of interest include menopause and perimenopause, PMS, contraception, women's health, lifestyle and nutritional advice, and occupational medicine. She has a particular interest in menopause in the workplace and the impact that hormonal changes can have on women's wellbeing, quality of life and working lives.
Dr Setchell takes a holistic and individualised approach to care. Rather than considering hormonal symptoms in isolation, she looks at the wider picture, including lifestyle and other factors that may influence a woman's health and wellbeing. Her aim is to work collaboratively with patients to understand their symptoms, priorities and concerns and to develop an appropriate management approach.
In addition to her clinical work, Dr Setchell regularly speaks about menopause and women's health. She has delivered talks to organisations including The Sainsbury Family Charitable Trust and Acuris and has contributed to discussions about menopause through podcasts including Liz Earle Wellbeing and Henpicked.
Her combination of general practice experience, specialist menopause training and occupational medicine expertise allows her to take a broad approach to women's hormonal health, with a particular focus on helping women optimise their health and quality of life throughout the menopause transition.

We aim to offer appointments as quickly as possible, and many services have same-day or next-day availability. Waiting times vary depending on the appointment type, specialty, and consultant availability, but our team will always offer the earliest suitable appointment.
Yes. You can arrange an appointment for a family member, or someone you care for, just let us know when you get in touch. We’ll need their details and consent to complete the booking, unless you're their legal guardian or have power of attorney.
Your first consultation includes a detailed discussion of your symptoms, medical history, and lifestyle factors, followed by a thorough examination. It’s helpful if you can bring the results of any previous investigations with you, as well as a list of your current medications. Come with a comfortably full bladder so you can provide a urine sample if requested.
