About Nikolaos Papamichail

Dr Nikolaos Papamichail is a leading expert in cardiology, echocardiography and cardiac imaging, with a special interest in valvular heart disease and heart failure. His areas of expertise also include Transthoracic Echocardiography, Contrast Echocardiography, 3D Echocardiography, Stress Echocardiography, Transoesophageal Echocardiography, Cardiac CT, hypertension, hyperlipidaemia, arrhythmias, diagnosis and management of coronary artery disease.

He is the Clinical Lead of Echocardiography at the Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust.

Dr Papamichail had extensive training in General Cardiology and Echocardiography in his native Greece and UK and is also actively involved in clinical research with an interest in non-invasive cardiology.

For his research he was awarded a PhD in experimental antiplatelet treatment of coronary artery thrombosis and he has published extensive scientific papers and book chapters (invited contributions) on various topics in cardiology, including echocardiography, valve disease, coronary artery disease, congenital heart disease and cardiomyopathies. He is also a reviewer for several international journals and a member of various professional societies.
