About Ozan Demir

Dr Ozan Demir is a highly regarded consultant cardiologist who specialises in both coronary and structural heart disease management. His areas of expertise include the assessment and treatment of patients with chest pain, coronary artery disease, aortic stenosis, valvular heart disease, high blood pressure (hypertension), high cholesterol, palpitations, and breathlessness, as well as in preventive cardiology. He regularly performs advanced interventional procedures, including coronary angioplasty (stent insertion) and transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI).

Dr Demir graduated in medicine from King’s College London (Guy’s, King’s and St Thomas’ Medical School) in 2009. He subsequently undertook specialist cardiology training in some of London’s leading teaching hospitals, including Hammersmith Hospital and St Thomas’ Hospital. Alongside his clinical training, he completed an MSc in Interventional Cardiology at Vita-Salute San Raffaele University in Milan, and later a PhD in Cardiovascular Medicine at King’s College London, where his doctoral research focused on patient-tailored precision management of coronary artery disease.

His career continued with advanced interventional fellowships in both coronary and structural heart disease at internationally recognised centres, including a year-long fellowship in Milan. He went on to hold senior fellowships in London before being appointed as a Consultant Interventional Cardiologist at the Essex Cardiothoracic Centre, where he leads innovative service development projects to improve patient care.

Dr Demir is widely published, with over 100 peer-reviewed articles in high-impact cardiology journals, including the European Heart Journal, JACC, and Circulation. He is actively involved in academia, collaborating on cutting-edge research studies.
