Dr Victoria Swale is a consultant dermatologist at Welbeck Dermatology and has expertise in a wide range of skin, hair and nail conditions, with a specialist interest in genital skin conditions such as lichen sclerosus, skin cancer, moles and lesion diagnosis.
Dr Swale holds an NHS post at the Royal Free London NHS Trust, where she has been a Consultant Dermatologist since 2004. She is a core member of the skin cancer multidisciplinary team.She was also a locum Consultant Dermopathologist at the Royal Hampstead NHS Foundation Trust from 2006-2023.
She has been a member of the Speciality Question Writing Group for the Royal College of Physicians from 2006-2019. She has served on the Examination Board for Dermatology in 2019.
Dr Victoria Swale qualified from the University of Southampton Medical School 1992, passed the Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP) exam in 1995, and was elected to Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians in 2008. Dr Swale is a former member of The British Association of Dermatologists’ Therapy and Guidelines Committee
Dr Swale was assistant Honorary Secretary for the British Association of Dermatologists from 2023-2025, and is currently Honorary Secretary. She is a former member of the British Society for Dermatopathology Executive Committee.
Dr Swale is a former council member for the British Society for the Study of Vulval Diseases and organised the highly successful Annual Conference of the British Society for the Study of Vulval Diseases in 2019.
In 2004, she was awarded an MD from the University of London for her research into genetic aspects of skin cancer and has lectured widely in Dermatology and Dermatopathology on several annual courses and invited lectures.
