About Anna Kamocka
Miss Anna Kamocka is a Consultant Bariatric, Upper Gastrointestinal, and General Surgeon with a specialist focus on minimally invasive surgery. She is the Service Director for Bariatric and Upper GI Surgery at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital. Her expertise includes the management of obesity and type 2 diabetes through laparoscopic primary and revisional bariatric surgery, as well as gallbladder surgery, laparoscopic and open hernia repairs, surgical treatment of reflux disease and achalasia, benign soft tissue lesions, and a wide range of other general surgical conditions.
Miss Kamocka trained at some of the UK’s most prestigious institutions, including Imperial College London, John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford, St George’s Hospital in London, and the Royal Surrey County Hospital in Guildford. She went on to complete high-volume bariatric fellowships in Bruges, Belgium, and Rochester, New York. On her return from the U.S. in 2022, she was appointed Consultant Surgeon at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
Committed to advancing clinical standards through research and education, Miss Kamocka was awarded a PhD from Imperial College London for her work on bariatric surgery and diabetes remission. She also holds a Master’s in Surgical Education (MEd) and is a respected trainer, serving as Surgical Simulation Lead at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital. In addition, she mentors international doctors through the Clinical Attachment Training Programme. With numerous publications and contributions to book chapters, Miss Kamocka is widely recognised in her field and is regularly invited to speak at national and international conferences.
