About Amit Patel
Mr Amit Patel is a dedicated and highly experienced trauma and orthopaedic surgeon specialising in foot and ankle conditions. His NHS base is The Royal London Hospital, Europe's busiest trauma centre. With extensive training and advanced subspecialty expertise, he is committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care for a wide range of complex foot and ankle disorders.
He completed his medical degree (MBBS) at University College London, followed by rigorous specialist training in London. He also obtained a master’s degree with honours in Sports and Exercise medicine. He undertook three specialist fellowships giving him further experience in high energy traumatic lower limb injuries, complex sports and reconstructive surgery, ankle replacements and revision replacements and diabetic foot surgery.
Mr Patel undertakes the whole range of foot and ankle surgery, performing keyhole and minimally invasive operations as much as possible to help his patients recover faster. He provides expert assessment and surgical treatment for conditions such as ankle arthritis, Achilles tendinopathy, bunions, flatfoot deformity, ankle instability, fractures, and post-traumatic deformities
His approach combines evidence-based medicine with innovative surgical techniques tailored to each patient's needs, with a focus on achieving optimal functional outcomes and helping patients return to their daily activities. His background in sports and exercise gives him true insight into the importance of multidisciplinary management to deliver holistic care for his patients.
Outside of the hospital, Mr Patel enjoys competing in a multitude of sports in his spare time.

Your first consultation includes a detailed discussion of your symptoms, medical history, and lifestyle factors, followed by a thorough examination. It’s helpful if you can bring the results of any previous investigations with you, as well as a list of your current medications. Come with a comfortably full bladder so you can provide a urine sample if requested.
