About Guy Martin
Mr Guy Martin is a Consultant Vascular Surgeon at Welbeck Heart Health, specialising in the comprehensive diagnosis and management of the full spectrum of arterial and venous disease.
At Welbeck, Mr Martin delivers a comprehensive and considered clinical service for both arterial and venous problems. At the heart of his practice is a commitment to genuinely patient-centred care, so that it is not just outcomes-focused and evidenced-based, but personally meaningful. In addition to seeing the full range of vascular conditions, at Welbeck he offers a complete portfolio of clinic-based, minimally invasive treatments for varicose veins and thread veins, providing individualised treatment plans that focus on delivering excellent clinical and cosmetic results.
Mr Martin has a busy NHS practice based at the internationally recognised Imperial Vascular Unit, part of Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust and Chelsea & Westminster NHS Foundation Trust. He manages and treats the full spectrum of elective and emergency vascular conditions, covering all aspects of arterial and venous pathology. He has particular subspecialist expertise in complex aortic and lower limb surgery, thoracic outlet syndromes and spinal access surgery. In parallel to his busy vascular practice, he works as a Consultant Trauma Surgeon at St Mary’s Major Trauma Centre, providing resuscitative surgery and overseeing the holistic multi-specialty care of patients with significant injuries. His interest in trauma surgery was underpinned by more than a decade with the Army Medical Services and ongoing humanitarian faculty work with The David Nott Foundation.
Beyond clinic practice, Mr Martin maintains active academic and research interests, with a particular focus on translational digital health technologies and complex vascular disease. A former NIHR Clinical Lecturer in Surgery at Imperial College London, he completed his PhD in collaboration with DeepMind Health. He has secured substantial research grant funding, publishes and lectures widely, and leads and contributes to major clinical trials and research initiatives. He is a Co-Founder of The Evidence Company, a provider of explainable and trustworthy AI architecture for healthcare.

We aim to offer appointments as quickly as possible, and many services have same-day or next-day availability. Waiting times vary depending on the appointment type, specialty, and consultant availability, but our team will always offer the earliest suitable appointment.
Yes. You can arrange an appointment for a family member, or someone you care for, just let us know when you get in touch. We’ll need their details and consent to complete the booking, unless you're their legal guardian or have power of attorney.
Your first consultation includes a detailed discussion of your symptoms, medical history, and lifestyle factors, followed by a thorough examination. It’s helpful if you can bring the results of any previous investigations with you, as well as a list of your current medications. Come with a comfortably full bladder so you can provide a urine sample if requested.
