About Sherif Khalil
Mr. Khalil is a Consultant Otologist, Auditory implants and Skull Base Surgeon. His NHS practice is at the Royal National Ear Nose and Throat and Eastman Dental Hospitals, and the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. He is currently the Clinical Lead for the RNTNEH/UCL Auditory Implants Programme. He sub-specialises in the field of Otology (Hearing and Balance Disorders), Cochlear implantation and skull base Surgery.
He has completed his higher surgical training in the North Thames region in London in all aspects of elective and emergency Otolaryngology. He has trained in different centres of excellence such as Charing Cross, The Royal National Throat, Nose & Ear, The National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery (Queen Square) and the Northwick Park Hospitals.
Mr. Khalil has extensive experience in cochlear implant surgery both in adults and children. He obtained a Doctorate Degree (MD) in the field of cochlear implantation. He has broad experience in the management of complex middle ear problems including hearing restoration (e.g. ossiculoplasty and stapedectomy) and chronic middle ear infection (e.g. tympanoplasty and mastoid surgery). Mr. Khalil is a core member of the Skull Base multi-disciplinary team at Queen Square and has special interest in vestibular schwannoma (acoustic neuroma) surgery and tumours of the ear and lateral skull base.
Mr. Khalil has been an invited speaker in international conferences worldwide in the field of auditory implants. He has a renowned globally recognised reputation in hearing preservation cochlear implantation.
