Mr Owen-Johnstone has built up a prominent reputation through his experience within London teaching hospitals in the NHS and his work with the trauma services.
Simon Owen-Johnstone, FRCS (Tr&Orth), is a consultant orthopaedic surgeon in full time private practice.
Having studied medicine at the University of Leicester, Mr Owen-Johnstone graduated in 1993. He then went on to become a junior surgeon at the Norfolk and Norwich Hospital.
He then continued his orthopaedic training on the Barts rotation, taking him to posts at Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital and Great Ormond Street. He also studied at the St Andrews Centre for Plastic Surgery, on a National Fellowship.
In 2004, he was appointed a consultant trauma and orthopaedic surgeon at St Bartholomew’s and The Royal London, working on multiple major injuries brought by the Helicopter Emergency Medical Service.
Before leaving the NHS in 2011 to work solely in the private sector he was the lead clinician for orthopaedics at Barts.

Your first consultation includes a detailed discussion of your symptoms, medical history, and lifestyle factors, followed by a thorough examination. It’s helpful if you can bring the results of any previous investigations with you, as well as a list of your current medications. Come with a comfortably full bladder so you can provide a urine sample if requested.
