About Wayne Ellis

Mr Wayne Ellis has over 20 years' experience in Audiology, caring for both adults and children. He is one of only a few clinicians trained in all areas of Audiology, including complex hearing and balance disorders and the highly specialised field of auditory implants (cochlear, middle ear, and bone conduction implants). He holds dual registration with the Health and Care Professions Council as both a Clinical Scientist in Audiology (Reg. CS17671) and Hearing Aid Dispenser (Reg. HAD02668).

Mr Ellis qualified with an MA in Natural Sciences from the University of Cambridge. In 2005, he obtained an MSc in Audiology from the University of Southampton, where he was awarded the D W Robinson prize for the best dissertation in the field of human sciences. Mr Ellis completed his post-graduate training at The Royal Berkshire Hospital, Reading, where he was awarded the Certificate of Audiological Competence (CAC). He is currently working towards a professional doctorate (Doctor of Clinical Science) at the University of Manchester, where his research focuses on auditory electrophysiology and cochlear implant outcomes.

Alongside his work at Welbeck ENT, Mr Ellis is Audiology Service Manager for Auditory Implants at The Royal National ENT Hospital, London. He is dedicated to training and professional development, having spent eight years on the British Society of Audiology Professional Practice Committee and three years as Chair of the BSA Short Course Sub-Committee.

Your first consultation includes a detailed discussion of your symptoms, medical history, and lifestyle factors, followed by a thorough examination. It’s helpful if you can bring the results of any previous investigations with you, as well as a list of your current medications. Come with a comfortably full bladder so you can provide a urine sample if requested.
