About Stephen Pereira
Prof Stephen Pereira is a Consultant Gastroenterologist and hepatologist with special interests in general gastroenterological problems as well as diseases of the liver, pancreas and biliary tree, small bowel disease, ERCP, colonoscopy and endoscopic ultrasound. He has been a consultant at University College Hospital since 2000 and at the Royal Free since 2008, and was appointed Professor of Hepatology & Gastroenterology at UCL in 2015. The research interests of his group centre on the causes, early diagnosis and novel treatments for gastrointestinal and pancreaticobiliary cancer, as well as benign pancreaticobiliary diseases. His NHS work is based at University College Hospital and he currently leads a number of multicentre clinical endoscopy trials and national and international research studies at UCLH/RFH.
