About Hiva Fassihi
Professor Hiva Fassihi is a consultant dermatologist at Welbeck Skin Health & Allergy. She is also Head of the Photodermatology Unit and the National Xeroderma Pigmentosum Service at the world-renowned St John’s Institute of Dermatology, based at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital in London. Professor Fassihi consults on all areas of General Dermatology, with specialist interests in Skin Cancer and Skin Surgery, Mole Checks, Sun Sensitive Disorders, and Phototherapy.
She is Honorary Professor of Photodermatology at King’s College London and has published widely in this field. She lectures both nationally and internationally, and has written numerous chapters for seminal dermatology textbooks including the Rook Book and Fitzpatrick’s Dermatology.
She is the Chair of the British Photodermatology Group and is involved in driving national guidelines for the management of Photodermatology patients. She is also a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians (FRCP). alongside being a member of the British Association of Dermatologists and British Society of Paediatric Dermatology.
Professor Hiva Fassihi graduated from the University of Cambridge and undertook dermatology training at St John’s Institute of Dermatology. This training included three years of research which led to numerous publications in highly regarded journals and presentations at clinical and scientific meetings.
She has achieved an array of awards including Albert M. Kligman Fellowship, Hugh Wallace Registrar’s prize, The Martin Beare Millennium Paediatric Award, the Royal Society of Medicine section prize, Whimster Prize, Guy’s and St Thomas CARE award, and the BMJ Dermatology Team of the Year Award.
