Professor Neal Navani is a leading Consultant Respiratory Physician with particular expertise in investigating lung nodules, diagnosing lung cancer and performing advanced bronchoscopy. Professional background


Professor Navani qualified in Medicine from the University of Cambridge and UCL in 2000, receiving a distinction and several university prizes. He trained in Respiratory Medicine at the Royal Brompton and Hammersmith hospitals before being awarded a Medical Research Council Fellowship in 2008. He completed his PhD at UCL in 2011 and also holds an MSc in Clinical Trials from the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine.

He is Lead Clinician for Lung Cancer and Interventional Bronchoscopy at University College London Hospitals (UCLH). He chairs the National Lung Cancer Audit and co-chairs a national clinical guideline on lung nodules, helping to shape and improve lung cancer care across the UK.

Professor Navani serves on national and international expert committees and advisory boards. He also leads a research lab at UCL, where he supervises postgraduate researchers and investigates new ways to assess the risk of cancer in lung nodules. His work in this field has been supported by a prestigious MRC/NIHR fellowship.

Professor Navani was included in the 2026 edition of the Tatler Doctors Guide.
