About Deepak Suri
Dr Deepak Suri is a consultant gastroenterologist and hepatologist at Welbeck, specialising in endoscopy and liver disease. He is an honorary senior lecturer at University College London, clinical lead for endoscopy at the Whittington Health NHS Trust and a JAG assessor for endoscopyunits.
His personal endoscopy completion rates, comfort sedation scores and polyp detection rates are regularly audited and are excellent compared to peers and national benchmarks. His philosophy is to offer a holistic and patient-centred approach and solutions to their problems.

Following his graduation in 1992, Dr Suri undertook postgraduate training at a number of London hospitals, including St George’s, Guy’s, the Middlesex and the Royal Free. He is clinically trained in hepatology, having carried out research in viral hepatitis while at UCL and working as a senior registrar at Royal Free Hospital’s Liver Unit.
He trains and educates colleagues including junior doctors and nurses. He has also been a clinical and training lead for endoscopy and clinical and educational supervisor to junior doctors at the Whittington Health NHS Trust.
