About Efthalia Tsachalina

Dr E. Tsachalina is a highly regarded Gynaecological Oncologist known for her expertise in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of gynaecological cancers, including those affecting the ovaries, uterus, cervix, and vulva. Additionally she is an experienced colposcopist and she is managing the most complicated cases of cervical pathology (abnormal cervical smears and biopsies), as she holds the position of the Lead in Colposcopy service at King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. She can manage a number of common gynaecological conditions, such as investigations of abnormal bleeding (heavy and irregular periods, bleeding after sex, bleeding with hormone replacement therapy, polyps) or post-menopausal bleeding. Additionally she offers diagnostic services of menopausal symptoms, as well as to provide efficient investigations of pelvic pain, bloated or discomfort of the tummy area. She specialises in vulval diseases including lichen sclerosis, and VIN, and performs a test called vulvoscopy that looks at the vulva through a microscope to check for any changes that can’t be seen by the naked eye. If anything unusual is found, a biopsy is taken which will be sent to pathology.

Dr Tsachalina is committed to providing comprehensive care that integrates both medical and surgical approaches. Her work involves not only the management of complex cancer cases but also the prevention and early detection of gynaecological malignancies through screenings and genetic assessments. She offers risk reduction surgery in women with genetic predisposition ( BRCA genes carriers). This proactive approach has made her a leader in improving patient outcomes and quality of life. With extensive training and experience, Dr Tsachalina has contributed significantly to advancing the field of oncology, particularly in the development of personalized treatment plans for her patients

Patients under Dr Tsachalina's care benefit from her compassionate and holistic approach, which includes providing emotional support and counselling to help them navigate the challenges of cancer treatment. Dr Tsachalina is dedicated to empowering women through education, ensuring they have the information needed to make informed decisions about their health and treatment options.

Dr Tsachalina's contributions to gynaecological oncology continue to have a lasting impact on both her patients and the medical community, and she remains a leading figure in the fight against gynaecological cancers.
