Dr James Shelley is a consultant dermatologist and dermatological (including Mohs) surgeon with over 14 years experience as a consultant. He specialises in skin cancer diagnosis and treatment including Mohs surgery, treatment of pre cancerous lesions, mole assessments, rashes, acne, skin infections and general adult dermatology.
He undertook specialist dermatology training in London and Southampton followed by a sub specialist 2 year Fellowship in Mohs Micrographic Surgery and Skin cancer management in Newcastle prior to taking up his consultant position at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital. Dr Shelley set up and leads the Mohs Micrographic Surgery service for at Chelsea and Westminster and between 2019 and 2021 he was the Service Director for the dermatology department at that Institution.
He is a Senior Clinical Lecturer at Imperial College where he is in charge of the dermatology undergraduate course, he also lectures nationally and internationally.
He has experience of working overseas in a humanitarian capacity, has been a ship's doctor and has a role providing remote telemedicine support for the British military.
