About Steve Allen

Dr Steve Allen completed his undergraduate training in medicine at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospitals in London, in 1997. Following basic surgical training and completion of the FRCS (London), he undertook specialist radiological training at the Hammersmith Hospitals, and was appointed as a Consultant Radiologist at The Royal Marsden in 2006.

He is the chair of the breast multidisciplinary team at the Royal Marsden Hospital in Chelsea, and he is the lead radiologist for metastatic breast cancer having inaugurated and chaired a weekly specialist metastatic breast cancer MDT.

He regularly provides specialist imaging opinions for patients with complex breast histories who have been referred as second and third opinions, both nationally and internationally.

He is a leading referee for peer reviewing breast papers submitted to the British Journal of Radiology. He is a peer reviewer for other leading journals as well as the NHS National Institute for Health Research programme.

Dr Allen is a specialist advisor to the National Institute of Health and Clinical Excellence on radiological breast interventional procedures.

Your first consultation includes a detailed discussion of your symptoms, medical history, and lifestyle factors, followed by a thorough examination. It’s helpful if you can bring the results of any previous investigations with you, as well as a list of your current medications. Come with a comfortably full bladder so you can provide a urine sample if requested.
