About Alex Magnussen
Mr Alex Magnussen received his medical degree from Imperial College London, qualifying with a Distinction in Clinical Practice. His specialist training was in the North-West Thames Rotation in London.
He has completed several prestigious international fellowships, including a Senior International Fellowship at the Royal North Shore Hospital in Sydney, Australia, within the Orthoplastics Hand Unit, and an Upper Limb and Hand Fellowship at Macquarie University in Sydney. He also gained extensive experience in major and complex upper limb trauma at St Mary's Hospital in Paddington.
Alex has an active interest in research with multiple publications and has presented his work nationally and internationally. He holds professional memberships of the British Society of Surgery of the Hand and the British Elbow and Shoulder Society, ensuring he remains up to date with current advances in practice. He aims to achieve an evidence-based standard of excellence with all his patient care.
He actively engages in medical education, lecturing, and mentoring Imperial College Medical Students and North West Thames Specialist Orthopaedic Registrars.
He prides himself on his approachability and reliability, both with his patients and his clinical colleagues and is proud to receive regular feedback supporting this.
