About James Kinross

Mr James Kinross is a colorectal surgeon at Welbeck Digestive Health, specialising in minimally invasive surgery for colorectal cancer and inflammatory bowel disease. He also has an interest in surgical nutrition, is an expert in the gut microbiome and performs research into probiotic and prebiotic therapies for colonic health for improved operative outcomes.

He is a senior lecturer at Imperial College London, a prolific researcher and contributes to the Huffington Post as well as many other publications.

Dr James Kinross was trained in northwest London, and was a National Institute for Health Research clinical lecturer in surgery, and an Ethicon laparoscopic fellow in colorectal surgery.

He was awarded a Royal College of Surgeons of England training fellowship during his PhD and he was funded by the Academy of Medical Sciences as an early stage lecturer. He is a visiting professor at the Royal College of Surgeons of Ireland and is currently funded by Bowel and Cancer Research and the NIHR Imperial Biomedical Research Centre.

Mr Kinross has published over 60 peer-reviewed papers and authored countless book chapters, whilst also presenting at over 30 international conferences.
