About Sonpreet Rai

Mr Sonpreet Rai is a consultant urological and robotic surgeon at Milton Keynes University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and at Welbeck Men's Health Sonpreet qualified in Medicine and Surgery with honours from Barts and The London School of Medicine & Dentistry.

He completed his Specialist Urological training on the Yorkshire rotation training programme including a year of sub-specialist laparoscopic training in Renal Cancer whilst at St James’s University Hospital, Leeds.

He went on to secure a coveted Royal College of Surgeons of England (RCSEng) and British Association of Urological Surgeons (BAUS) accredited Senior Clinical Fellowship in Robotic Surgery in both Bladder Cancer and Renal cancer at the renowned Vattikuti Foundation Robotic Surgery Institute, Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital in London.

Sonpreet was appointed in 2021 to his current post as Consultant Urological Surgeon at Milton Keynes University Hospital and has successfully set up the robot-assisted minimally invasive urology programme.

He is the current Cancer Lead for Urology as well as a Clinical Surgical Tutor for Oxford Medical Students and an Education Supervisor for Foundation Trainees.

His main clinical areas of interest are renal cancer, bladder cancer and the diagnosis and management of prostate conditions. In addition to his sub-specialist practice, Sonpreet has broad expertise in managing general urological conditions.
