
About Guy Leschziner
Professor Guy Leschziner is a Consultant Neurologist at Welbeck. For over 12 years, he has been based at Guy’s Hospital and St Thomas’ Hospital. He runs regular epilepsy and sleep clinics, as well as general neurology clinics.
Over the last decade, he has developed a multidisciplinary sleep service at Guy’s Hospital, the UK’s largest dedicated sleep service. In addition to teaching and research, he has edited the Oxford Handbook of Sleep Medicine, and is a neurology section editor for Principles and Practice of Sleep Medicine.
Professor Leschziner also has a keen interest in public engagement, as he is a presenter for BBC Radio 4 and The World Service, and has written two neurology books for the general public – The Nocturnal Brain and The Man Who Tasted Words.
In February 2025, he featured on the Feel Better, Live More podcast by Dr Rangan Chatterjee. In the podcast, Professor Leschziner offers his expert, evidence-based insights and practical solutions for common sleep problems.

Your first consultation includes a detailed discussion of your symptoms, medical history, and lifestyle factors, followed by a thorough examination. It’s helpful if you can bring the results of any previous investigations with you, as well as a list of your current medications. Come with a comfortably full bladder so you can provide a urine sample if requested.
