Our expert radiologists and clinical imaging teams use advanced technology to provide accurate answers, guide treatment, and support clinical decisions in a calm, child-friendly environment.

Why choose Welbeck for paediatric imaging and diagnostics?
At Welbeck, we recognise that children may feel anxious about tests and procedures. Our radiologists and imaging specialists focus on gentle communication and careful explanation to help them feel at ease throughout the process. We use advanced on-site diagnostic technology to gather high-quality information quickly, so clinical teams can make informed decisions about your child’s care. We also work closely with paediatric clinicians across specialties to ensure joined-up care from first referral through results and treatment planning.

Frequently asked questions
If your child is having blood tests, you can stay with them throughout. Your child can also sit on your lap if this helps them feel more comfortable.
If your child is having an imaging test, like an X-ray or MRI, the radiographer will advise on the safety measures required. It’s not always possible for you to stay with your child for these types of tests. If you’re unsure, please contact the centre ahead of time for information.
If a cannula is required to properly perform a test, we’ll make that you’re made aware of this ahead of time. A numbing cream called EMLA cream can be applied before cannula insertion – please arrive 1 hour early if this is required. We may also use freeze spray for those over 12 years of age.
