Professor Liz Lightstone is a Consultant Nephrologist spanning both our Digestive Health and Endocrinology centres. She specialises in kidney and transplant services, maternal medicine, and pre-pregnancy counselling.

Dr Antoni Sergot is a Consultant Radiologist specialising in imaging for gastrointestinal and abdominal pathology.

Dr Dominic Blunt ran the largest training program in London for many years and continues to play an active role in training, and supporting research projects within Imperial College, as well as continuing as lead for gastrointestinal imaging.

Dr Joshua Shur is a consultant radiologist at OneWelbeck Imaging and Diagnostics. Prior to studying medicine, Dr Shur was awarded a 1st class master’s degree in physics and is currently undertaking a PhD in the imaging of colorectal liver metastases.

Professor Sanjay Purkayastha is a Consultant General Surgeon at Welbeck Digestive Health, specialising in bariatric and upper GI surgery, and was one of the first surgeons in the UK to carry out robotic bariatric surgery.

Professor Hemant Kocher is a Consultant General and HPB Surgeon at Welbeck and director of the Cancer Tissue Bank and Pancreas Tissue Bank. He specialises in diseases of the gallbladder and bile duct, liver and pancreas.

Mr David James is a Consultant Colorectal Surgeon at Welbeck and in Oxford University Hospitals NHS Trust. He trained in London, Oxford and undertook Fellowships in the Mayo Clinic and in Brisbane.

Dr Jonathan Hoare is a nationally accredited colonoscopist on the National Bowel Cancer Screening programme; and a medical adviser to the Barrett’s Oesophagus Campaign.

Dr Webster is a consultant gastroenterologist. He's the clinical lead for hepatopancreaticobiliary medicine at UCLH, VP of Endoscopy at the British Society of Gastroenterology, and on the Council of the European Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.

Mr Shahnawaz Rasheed is a Consultant Colorectal Surgeon at Welbeck Digestive Health and is a senior lecturer at Imperial College London specialising in robotic surgery and colorectal cancer.

Mr Lewis is a Consultant General Surgeon at Welbeck Digestive Health, specialising in minimally invasive abdominal surgery. He established the complex abdominal wall unit at Epsom Hospital and serves as a surgical tutor.

Ms. Morgan is a JAG accredited Nurse Endoscopist and IBD Specialist at Welbeck with over 26 years experience.

Dr Matthew Foxton is a Consultant Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist at Welbeck. His areas of specialist expertise include liver cirrhosis and its complications, fatty liver disease, hepatocellular carcinoma, alcoholic liver disease, and endoscopy.

Dr Robert Thomas trained as a physician, developing a particular interest in gastrointestinal medicine. He is a full time NHS Consultant Diagnostic and Interventional Radiologist at Imperial College NHS Healthcare Trust.

Miss Oluyemi Femi-Ayeni is an AGIP/BSG-accredited Independent Healthcare Practitioner specialising in gastrointestinal physiology, and performs a range of upper and lower gastrointestinal diagnostic tests.

Dr Bansi is one of the leading experts in Bariatric Endoscopy in London and the UK, with expertise in the management of post-surgery complications and the use of endoscopy methods to achieve weight loss. He is also an honorary senior lecturer at ICL.

Dr Anderson founded, and now leads, the video capsule endoscopy and balloon enteroscopy service at Guy’s and St Thomas Hospital. He is one of the foremost practitioners in the field, with dual accreditation in gastroenterology and general medicine.

Professor Ailsa Hart is a leading international authority in the management of inflammatory bowel disease. She is an experienced gastroenterologist who performs both colonoscopies and gastroscopies.

Dr Shabbir Moochhala is a Consultant Nephrologist at Welbeck. He is very experienced in all aspects of kidney disease, including chronic kidney disease and hypertension, and is also an accredited general physician.

Dr Sebepos-Rogers is a Consultant Gastroenterologist at Welbeck with a specialist interests in Inflammatory Bowel Disease, nutrition and endoscopy. He leads the nutrition service at Hammersmith Hospital.

Dr. Banks led a world-renowned unit at two major London teaching hospitals after being twice appointed as Director of Endoscopy. He is just one of few national endoscopy trainers with exemplary performance standards, particularly in colonoscopy.

Mr Naim Fakih Gomez is an Upper GI, Bariatric and General Surgeon who specialises in weight loss (Bariatric & Metabolic) and upper gastrointestinal (GI) surgeries, as well as other general surgery conditions such as gallstones and hernias.

Mr Gregory Thomas is a consultant colorectal surgeon at Welbeck specialising in pelvic floor disorders, complex proctology (fistula, fissures and haemorrhoids), pilonidal disease, abdominal wall hernia and inflammatory bowel disease.

Professor Tan Arulampalam has over 25 years of experience as a general and colorectal surgeon. He has a specialist interest in colorectal cancer, proctology particularly minimally invasive surgery for pilonidal sinus and anal fistulas.

Dr Emily Porter (PhD, RD) is a registered dietitian with the HCPC who specialises in managing functional gut symptoms, particularly those associated with Irritable Bowel Syndrome, and the gut-metabolism and gut-immune axes.

Dr Wong is a Consultant Gastroenterologist at Welbeck and Guys and St. Thomas’ Hospital. His clinical interests are in gastro-oesophageal reflux disease, pancreaticobiliary endoscopy and hepatology.

Dr Andrew Frankel is a consultant kidney doctor at Welbeck Digestive Health. He has experience in managing all aspects of kidney disease with particular interest in the management of chronic kidney disease and diabetes related kidney disease.

Professor Naila Arebi is a Consultant Gastroenterologist and Endoscopist at Welbeck. Her clinical work involves most aspects of gastroenterology, with key areas of interest in Inflammatory Bowel Disease, Irritable Bowel Syndrome, and constipation.

Dr Zahir Amin is a Consultant Radiologist with a special interest in HPB and GI imaging and intervention. His NHS practice is at University College Hospital where his main current interests are HPB imaging and intervention.
