I came to Welbeck for a routine mole check with Dr Bryan MacDonald. He checked all of my existing moles and found a BCC on my forehead, which I was not aware of.
From the moment I arrived, I felt relaxed and reassured. The team is lovely and very reassuring. I was incredibly nervous on the day of my Mohs surgery, but the team made me feel at ease.
The team has always been incredibly professional and compassionate. During a biopsy, I nearly fainted, and the nursing staff were exceptionally kind and patient throughout the experience. When I returned to have the stitches removed, a different nurse, who was already aware of what had happened previously, took extra care to ensure I was comfortable and at ease.
After my initial appointment, I returned for a biopsy, which involved a couple of stitches. These were removed during a follow-up visit a week later. I then had another appointment to confirm the BCC diagnosis and discuss treatment options.
Mohs surgery was recommended, and I met with Dr Seaton, who confirmed I was a suitable candidate for the procedure. In the lead-up to the operation, I had some back and forth with the team, as I was feeling nervous and wanted to fully understand all my options. The team was incredibly thorough and patient in presenting these, and after careful consideration, we agreed that Mohs surgery was the most appropriate course of action.
I then returned to the clinic for the surgery, which took place over the course of about half a day. Following the procedure, I had several follow-up appointments to monitor healing and ensure everything was progressing well.
I was unaware of the BCC before my initial visit, but the surgery has given me real peace of mind knowing it has been properly treated. The recovery process was minimal and just as the team at Welbeck had described. They were thorough in preparing me for both the procedure and the recovery, and remained available throughout for any questions or support. Overall, the recovery was smooth and straightforward, and I felt completely comfortable communicating with the professionals at Welbeck.
By contrast, my husband underwent a more extensive and complex procedure with a different team at another private hospital in London a few weeks later, and the communication, both before and after the procedure, did not match the high standard of care I received at Welbeck.
I highly recommend visiting the clinic. I can confidently vouch for both doctors I saw, as well as the high standards of the entire team. I’ve already suggested that a friend undergoing a BCC removal see Dr Seaton, and recommended Dr MacDonald to another friend for dermatological care. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the entire team.
My experience with Welbeck was excellent. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to friends and family. I’ll be returning regularly for mole checks and would confidently choose Dr Seaton for any future procedures. The outcome (my scar) is significantly better than I expected.
